New Dawn Fades is a heavy underground band from Philadelphia blending thick, riff-driven heaviness with strong melody. Their sound pulls from classic and traditional doom, ’70s hard rock, ’80s metal, ’90s grunge, and stoner rock, creating songs that are both powerful and memorable

The band was formed by singer and guitarist GFA (Ritual Earth, Halo of Snakes), alongside guitarist Corey Pettingill (Blackhand), bassist Algar (Green Meteor), and drummer Steve Roche (Saetia, Off Minor). Each brings a deep-rooted background in heavy and underground music, locking together into a sound that’s equal parts crushing and hypnotic.

Drawing influence from bands like Black Sabbath, Danzig, Mercyful Fate, Soundgarden, Queens of the Stone Age, and Corrosion of Conformity, New Dawn Fades focuses on massive riffs and steady grooves, paired with melodic vocals and strong hooks.
